Note that there are some triggering scenes, and not faint of heart. Broken Kingdom is so worth the listen, and I advise you to read/listen to the series in order. As for his motives, they are as complex as he is. Quinton leaves his mark, scarring her with the hurt he induces. She stands resilient and grows stronger with every unforeseen hit. Aspen is once again tested she is confronted with heartbreak and one obstacle after another. She described her judgment of the parent in her mind. I especially appreciated the chapter that discussed Kathy who had a parent visit with a foster child’s mom.
